It’s World Mental Health Day and i’d like to take a moment to talk about suicide awareness. One person dies by suicide every 40 seconds. Its the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year-olds. Suicides are preventable. If you are struggling, take 40 seconds to kickstart a conversation with someone you trust about how you are feeling. If you know someone who has lost a loved one to suicide, take 40 seconds to start a conversation and ask them how they are doing. A simple DM, text or phone call could be all it takes. If you or someone you know is suffering, don't suffer in silence. Speak to your GP and get the help you deserve. One person dies by suicide every 40 seconds. It takes 40 seconds to prevent a suicide. The benefits of exercise to mental health are undisputed. It's the getting started that can be tough.
So, next time Netflix says "are you still watching?" take 40 seconds to do as many star jumps as you can.
Next time the kettle is boiling, how many burpees can you do?
Next time you're feeling blue, take 40 seconds and reach out.
You're not alone.
